Mr Chiwanza has clearly put a huge amount of time into creating portraits of sportspeople, mostly cricketers with a South African connection. These are insights on a level you won't find elsewhere -- and they're well worth reading.
This is clearly golf writing for the thinking observer interested in more than just the latest leaderboard update. I like the layout and the headlines make we want to binge-read. I'm more tempted to subscribe to the paid version of this than any other sport Substack so far - and will do so the moment I have any disposable income!
Neil is a leading authority on the game, and is particularly connected in South Africa. As an experienced, professional commentator (rather than a recently retired international slung behind a microphone), I wish he got more airtime than he does. I've worked with Neil before, reporting on Test cricket, European Tour golf and Currie Cup rugby.
With a particular penchant for digging into statistics, Jarrod provides fresh perspectives on cricket 'truths' that might not always be as Gospel as they seem. He takes more time than most to compile fact-based analysis of whatever topic he's tackling. And if, like me, you've got better things to do with your time than care about which Indian megalopolis is beating which other Indian megalopolis at hit-and-giggle, he's good at talking Test and international cricket.
